INTERVIEW


 Good day sir we are mass communication student science and technology reporters we are here to find out the new inventions you have in this department because we have heard a lot about the inventions in these department. As mass communication student, we have to find out your news inventions and that why we are here to interview you sir.
Q: we would like to know your name sir.
A: my name is Dr Alaye acting for my HOD you understand ok. So we have some works from the last final year students, one of them   is vacuum oil extraction and yam pounder. That will pound your yam in 24 seconds so you can imagine that just 24 seconds.
 Q: can we know the name of the student
A: well I know one is Ofuri Chika from our department mechanical department and if you get to department they can show you the yam pounder.
Q: sir, can we take the pictures?
A: you have to see the supervisor of the yam pounder, Dr Leramo supervised it.
Q: how does the yam pounder work?
A: It’s simple when you have boiled your yam and you cut it in small shape then you put it in the yam pounder you press the start button and it pounds it in 24 seconds, you remove it and put the next batch of yam. When you are done pounding you remove the pounded yam and wash the yam pounder bowl.
Q: How long can it last?
A: It depends on how often you use it, but at least 5 years.
Q: sir, what were the shortcomings you faced while doing this invention?
A: well, it took time, the first one we produced exploded when we wanted to test it for the first time after production due to the fact that the there were flaws when it was casted. We had to do it all over again, It took a lot of money for the production.
Q: what are the advantages of the yam pounder?
A: it is energy saving and time saving as we know that our country we have little issues with job opportunities so this well help improve the job opportunities for Nigeria. It will increase the standard of living for Nigerians. Also we could also import this machine to other African and western countries that eat pounded yam.
Q: with this interview can we say that the mandate of the bishop the chancellor of the university is actually raising new generation leaders?
A: yes, sure it is coming to past when we have started having brilliant innovations from the students of the school to also join hand in helping the economy of their country globally and locally.
